Psychotherapy for Individuals, Couples, and Families
Services
Individual Therapy involves client and therapist in a one-to-one situation. Individual therapy sessions are scheduled for at least once a week and usually last for 45-50 minutes, giving the therapist the remainder of the hour to make notes, which will aid in further treatment.
Individual therapy works best for people who may not be comfortable in a group setting or whose specific problems do not lend themselves to group discussion. Sometimes, clients start out in individual therapy and move on to a therapy group after the initial crisis is resolved.
Couples therapy is effective for marriage or divorce counseling, relationships difficulties, or premarital counseling. Each person has the opportunity to express his/her feelings and point of view, with the therapist acting as a neutral sounding board for their conflicts and complaints. Couples therapy identifies the underlying issues in the relationship and teaches the couple communication skills and conflict-resolution techniques for resolving them.
Family therapy works not only with the problems confronting parents, but also with the relationships between parents and children. Family counseling allows interactions among family members in a safe setting where they can express their feelings and explore family roles without fear of ridicule or punishment.
Fees and Insurance
Rates
$100 per 50-minute session. Fees are subject to change with prior notice given.
Consider the Benefits of Private Pay
-
Shorter wait times - Using insurance can prolong the start of therapy due to complications that may arise in the authorization process.
-
Increased privacy - Going through a 3rd party payer (insurance) some confidentiality is compromised. Some sensitive information may be provided during authorization and billing.
-
More flexibility - Insurance companies often impose rigid treatment options. Without insurance, the therapy process can be more uniquely tailored to you.
-
No limitations on number of sessions - Without a preset number of allotted sessions, you can feel at ease as you go at your own pace.

-

-
Is approval required from my primary care physician?
